The Criminal Assets Bureau conducted a search operation in Counties Dublin and Kildare today – 12 May 2022.
The operation was conducted by Bureau Officers, supported by the Emergency Response Unit, the Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, Tallaght District Drug Unit, Naas District Drug Unit, the Stolen Motor Vehicle Unit and the Customs Dog Unit.
A total of 50 personnel were involved in this morning’s operation which involved searches at five locations, including two residential addresses, a commercial unit, a solicitor’s office and a motor dealership.
Three bank accounts containing funds of €340,000.00 were identified and restrained during the course of the operation. In addition, the following assets were also seized:
- A 212 Registration BMW X6
- A 141 Registration BMW X5
- A Breitling Watch
- Two Armani Watches
- Hard Drives, Documentation and Electronic Devices
This morning’s search operation was conducted as part of a Criminal Assets Bureau proceeds of crime investigation into assets accrued by the Director of an East European Organised Crime Gang involved in drug trafficking.
The East European Organised Crime Gang is also suspect for providing logistical assistance to Irish Organised Crime Gangs. Today’s operation marks a significant development in the on-going Criminal Asset Bureau proceeds of crime investigation.
