On Thursday 24th March 2022, the Criminal Assets Bureau delivered training to 37 new Divisional Asset Profilers. Those who participated in the training included officers from An Garda Síochána, Revenue Customs and the Department of Social Protection from around the country. These new Profilers are now equipped to recognise criminals whose conduct and lifestyle identifies them for assessment by the Criminal Assets Bureau.
The Criminal Assets Bureau is responsive to new trends and shares learning with personnel on the frontline. CAB was supported in the delivery of this training by international partners at the Basel Institute of Governance and Interpol’s online college IIPCIC (International IP Crime Investigators College), who provided access to their online training platforms. CAB is committed to building on the success of these collaborations, bringing international best practices to frontline officers.
The Chief Bureau Officer is conscious in today’s world that everything local, can in moments, have international links. In addition to Irish law enforcement, the training was observed by a Senior Icelandic Police Officer. The newly trained CAB Divisional Asset Profilers are encouraged to use their new skills in their daily policing activities.
The Chief Bureau Officer said “The Divisional Asset Profilers are the eyes and ears of the Criminal Assets Bureau in our communities. The CAB is fully committed to supporting local communities and ensuring people do not profit from Criminal conduct”.
The Divisional Asset Profilers are an integral part in the success of the Criminal Assets Bureau in achieving its objective of denying and depriving.
