The Criminal Assets Bureau, with the assistance of the Garda National Immigration Bureau, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and the Customs Revenue Dog Unit conducted a search operation in Counties Dublin and Meath this morning, Friday, 26 November 2021.
A total of 24 searches were conducted, which included 11 residential properties, 1 office and 1 business premises (linked to the OCG), and 11 professional premises (Solicitors, Accountants and Auctioneers). A total of 72 CAB & Garda personnel were involved in the searches.
The following was seized:
- €35,000 cash
- A 162 Hyundai Tucson
- 3 x High Value Watches (Rolex and Chopard)
- Quantity of Designer Handbags
- Electronic storage devices
- Documentation in relation to Financial and Property transactions
In addition to the seizure of the above assets, in excess of €310,000 was restrained in financial accounts.
The CAB investigation is focused on the assets of an international Organised Criminal Group involved in the cultivation, sale and supply of controlled drugs through a network of Cannabis Grow Houses and the subsequent laundering of the proceeds of their criminal conduct.
